Celtic Goddess of Smithcraft, Healing & Inspiration, she survived into the Christian era in Ireland as the beloved St. Bridget. A fire goddess, her name means “bright one.” Her festival of Imbolc, or Candlemas, on February 2 — the Celtic first day of spring — marks the lengthening of daylight, and reminds us of the life that stirs beneath the snows of winter.
